The Top Dog Alumni Awards recognizes and celebrates alumni and friends who have made significant contributions to society, and whose accomplishments, affiliations and careers have honored the legacy of excellence at Fresno State.

Top Dog Distinguished Alumni Award

The Distinguished Alumni Award

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor bestowed upon an alumna or alumnus of Fresno State. The award recognizes the achievements of alumni who have distinguished themselves professionally in their post-collegiate career and have made significant contributions in their profession, community, and economy. 

Top Dog Outstanding Alumni Award

The Outstanding Alumni Award

The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes Fresno State alumni for outstanding accomplishments in their field(s). Each school/college and area included in the nomination packet is awarded one Outstanding Alumni Award.

The Arthur Safstrom Service Award

The Arthur Safstrom Service Award honors an alumna or alumnus, faculty, staff or friend of Fresno State, who has made significant impact through dedication of time, talent, and/or treasure to the University.

 

Top Dog Award Criterias


The Distinguished Alumni Award

  • The recipient will be selected from the pool of the Outstanding Alumni nominees
  • Must be a confirmed graduate of the University.

  • The recipient or a family member must be able to attend the awards ceremony.

The Outstanding Alumni Award

  • Nominees shall have completed 30 units of coursework.
  • The nominee should demonstrate leadership and service to their profession, the community, and society at-large.
  • The nominee should have a record of distinction and accomplishment in their field.
  • The recipient or a family member must be able to attend the awards ceremony.

The Arthur Safstrom Service Award

  • Nominees for the Arthur Safstrom Service Award shall be alumni, faculty, staff or friends of California State University, Fresno.
  • Service and/or philanthropy to the University will be the prime factor of award eligibility.
  • The recipient or a family member must be able to attend the awards ceremony.

The honoree will elevate the value of a Fresno State degree through:

  • Demonstrating emerging and unique innovation, creativity and success in their chosen career.
  • Demonstrating stature and ability that merits the recognition as a proven leader in their chosen field and the community.
  • Exemplifying a record of outstanding personal and professional accomplishments, notable achievement, and/or expertise.

*Interest in and support of the University may also be considered.

  • Demonstrates leadership and innovation.
  • Demonstrates and sustains excellence in their field (professional, academic, research or community)
  • Contributions to and is recognized by their profession or community.
  • Supports the development of the community and/or economy
  • Demonstrated commitment to Fresno State to support the University's values and mission.
